Elderflower Syrup – Aromatic Speciality from Fragrant Elderflowers
The elder plant belongs to the Adoxaceae family and includes around 10 species worldwide. In Central Europe, three of these species can be found. Its fragrant flowers and aromatic berries are particularly valued.
Elderflowers are carefully harvested in May, June, and July, while the ripe berries are collected in September and October. From the berries, we produce our homemade elderberry jam, known as “Hollermulla”.
Our elderflower syrup is known for its delicate floral flavour and is a perfect refreshing drink during the summer months. It is also widely appreciated as a base for a popular modern aperitif: mixed with sparkling water and Prosecco, a fresh mint leaf, ice cubes, and a slice of lemon, it becomes the well-known HUGO – a refreshing cocktail enjoyed worldwide.
